As part of the 2023 ACYO Workshop, students will have a unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the college application and audition process. Finding the right college is more complex with more competition than ever. Working with renowned educator and mentor Dr. Christine Gangelhoff, students will gain knowledge and confidence, equipping them to successfully navigate the college roadmap, while gaining a cutting edge in the application process.
The workshops will cover the following topics:
- Building a College List
- Selecting Audition Repertoire
- Preparing for Auditions
- Organizing Application Materials
- Financial Aid and Scholarship Insight
Throughout the workshops, students will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized feedback from our expert advisor. By the end of the workshop, you will have a clear understanding of how to navigate the college application process and increase your chances of success.
About Dr. Christine Gangelhoff
Dr. Christine Gangelhoff is a multi-dimensional practitioner of music. As a first-generation college student with a passion for music, she forged her own path, finding innovative ways to fund her education and establish a successful career in the field of her dreams. She earned four degrees from colleges with renowned music programs – including Yale University – all funded through scholarships, grants, and student loans. Her career includes a diverse array of interests and achievements including work as a professor of music, performer, recording artist, arts administrator, published author and scholar, and educational and career consultant. She has a passion for helping young students, especially first-generation and underrepresented populations, to establish academic and career paths to achieve their musical goals and pursue their dreams. She is currently Professor of Music at The University of The Bahamas and has also held positions on the faculties of Memorial University of Newfoundland and St. Thomas University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
